Privacy policy

Baytuna is a shared household organizer. This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

01

Who operates Baytuna

Baytuna is the operator of the Baytuna mobile application and this website. Privacy questions can be sent to contact@softutopia.com.

02

Information we handle

  • Account information, including your name, email address, authentication identifiers and profile preferences.
  • Household membership, roles, invitations, module choices and shared settings.
  • Content you add to calendars, tasks, notes, grocery lists, recipes, meal plans, routines, occasions, budgets and other enabled modules.
  • Photos, scanned documents, filenames and files you choose to upload.
  • Child and dependent profiles, care entries, emergency contacts, school details and health-related notes you choose to store.
  • Pet, vehicle and outdoor records, including maintenance, care and inventory information.
  • Shared contacts you add or choose to import, including names, organizations, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses and optional contact photos. Native notes, relationships and favourites are not imported.
  • A household address or coordinates when you configure local weather and prayer-time features.
  • Baytuna AI conversations, proposed actions, the relevant household context needed for a request, and voice recordings submitted for transcription.
  • Notification preferences, device push tokens and basic technical information needed to deliver reminders and keep the service secure.
  • Apple subscription purchase history linked to your Baytuna account identifier, including product, trial, renewal, grace-period and expiration status.
03

How we use information

  • Provide, synchronize and secure the household features you choose to use.
  • Apply household roles and ensure content is available only to authorized household members.
  • Send reminders and notifications that you enable.
  • Answer Baytuna AI requests and prepare actions for your review. Proposed actions are not applied until you confirm them.
  • Provide product lookup, local weather and prayer-time information when requested.
  • Diagnose service failures, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
  • Process, restore and manage Baytuna Premium access for households owned by the subscriber.
04

Baytuna AI and voice

Baytuna AI is optional and disabled by default. Before any personal data is sent to an external AI service, the app names the services and data categories involved and asks for your explicit permission. Choosing Not Now leaves the assistant disabled and does not affect the rest of Baytuna.

When you use Baytuna AI, the app sends your message and only the household context relevant to that request to OpenRouter, which routes the request to an available model provider. Email addresses, credentials, internal record identifiers and file paths are removed or replaced where possible before context is sent.

Baytuna requests providers that deny data collection and support zero-data-retention processing. If an eligible provider is unavailable, the assistant or voice transcription may be unavailable rather than using a provider without those protections. Conversations and action proposals are stored in Baytuna so you can review your history and complete confirmed actions. You can withdraw permission at any time under Settings → Privacy → Baytuna AI data sharing; this blocks new AI requests without deleting existing conversations.

05

Services that process information

  • Supabase provides authentication, database, realtime synchronization, file storage and server functions.
  • OpenRouter and its selected zero-retention model providers process assistant messages and voice transcription requests.
  • Open Food Facts receives product names or barcodes when you use grocery product search.
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim or Open-Meteo may receive an address search; Open-Meteo receives coordinates for forecasts.
  • AlAdhan receives coordinates and a date to calculate prayer times.
  • Apple and Expo services process push-notification delivery and platform diagnostics according to their own policies.
  • RevenueCat processes the Baytuna account identifier and Apple subscription history to validate purchases, restore access, provide subscription analytics and synchronize Premium status. Baytuna does not send RevenueCat your email address or household content.
  • Vercel hosts this public website and may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details and access time for security and delivery.
06

Sharing and tracking

Household content is shared with the signed-in members of that household according to their role. Baytuna does not sell personal information, use household data for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. This website does not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.

07

Storage, security and retention

Baytuna uses encrypted network connections, authenticated access and database row-level security. No system can guarantee absolute security, so household members should use strong passwords and protect their devices.

Information is retained while your account or household needs it. Individual records can be removed through their modules. Deleting an account removes its authentication account and profile files and requests deletion of its RevenueCat customer record. A household owner must transfer ownership or explicitly delete the household; deleting a household also removes its household records and stored household files. Limited backups or security records may persist temporarily before routine deletion. Deleting a Baytuna account does not cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions must be cancelled through Apple before deletion if you do not want billing to continue.

08

Your choices and rights

  • Review and update your profile and household content in the app.
  • Change module, language, appearance and notification preferences.
  • Choose whether to use contacts, camera, microphone, photo library, biometric lock and notification permissions through your device settings. Contact access is requested only after an owner or adult starts import; selected contacts are copied to the household and Baytuna never writes to the device address book.
  • Enable or withdraw permission for external AI processing under Settings → Privacy → Baytuna AI data sharing.
  • Delete your account under Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  • Ask a privacy question or request assistance by emailing contact@softutopia.com.
09

Children and family information

Baytuna is a household tool for adults and is not directed to children. An adult household member may choose to store information about dependents. The adult is responsible for having authority to add and share that information with other household members.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Baytuna’s features or service providers change. The revised date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
